ISILDUR1 CONFIRMED FOR PARTYPOKER.COM BIG GAME IV MYSTERIOUS HIGH STAKES LEGEND SET FOR TV DEBUT IN LONDON

März 31, 2010

Gibraltar – 31st March 2010 — www.partypoker.com and Matchroom Sport are delighted to announce the huge news that mysterious high stakes poker legend Isildur1 will be making his tv debut at the PartyPoker.com Big Game IV at Les Ambassadeurs club in Mayfair, London on April 11-13. The legendary cash game will take place at the prestigious venue for 48 hours straight!

Isildur1’s appearance will be funded by Tony G, following his promise on the PartyPoker blog. Tony writes about Isildur1 accepting his offer at:

http://blog.partypoker.com/tony-g/isildur1-to-play-in-the-partypoker-big-game-iv.html

Eddie Hearn: Managing Director of Matchroom Sport said: “It was important to me that Isildur1 made his first major TV appearance on one of our shows. Tony and I have worked hard to ensure this happened and we are delighted to welcome him to The PartyPoker.com Big Game IV. Even without an identity, Isildur1 has become the biggest name in poker within six months of high stakes online action. Quite simply, this will be the most hotly anticipated poker show of all time.”

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: “Please note this is not an April fool, Isildur1 has joined the line-up!”

The PartyPoker.com Big Game IV has a new presenting sponsor in the form of http://www.pokernews.com/. As part of the deal, PokerNews.com will have branding at the event and the bonus PartyPot offered to players every hour will now be the PokerNews pot. PokerNews.com is also offering two freeroll seats to play in the game. A ‘weakest link style’ eviction process will take place during the game where one player can evicted from the table and for the very first time the players will be coming to the tables with walk-on music! PokerNews.com will be hosting a forum where players get to decide what record they want the players to walk in to. For example, Tony G could be ‘Back in the USSR,’ by The Beatles, Isildur1 could be ‘Sweet Little Mystery’ by Wet, Wet, Wet – Luke ‘FullFlush’ Schwartz could be ‘Teenage Dirtbag,’ by Wheatus. How about Neil Channing? ‘I am a Rock’ by Simon and Garfunkel? The debate and decision making starts soon on PokerNews.com.

Isildur1 joins a line-up that includes Team PartyPoker.com’s Tony G, Premier League IV runner-up Luke “Full Flush” Schwartz, World Open V champion and Premier League hotshot Phil Laak, serial WSOP casher Isaac Haxton, Neil Channing, Laurence Grondin and Jennifer Tilly. There are more big names to follow, with the action to be screened first on Five in the UK later in the year and then distributed internationally.

The third edition of the tournament saw Andrew Feldman and Robert Williamson III walk away as the biggest winners in a field that included Roland De Wolfe, Ian Frazer, Juha Helppi and Barny Boatman, while the first two editions of the tournament included WSOP main event champion Jamie Gold, Brian Townsend, Tony G, Phil Hellmuth Chris Ferguson, Kenna James and Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott.

FINAL NINE SET AT WPT BUCHAREST, SPONSORED BY GAMEBOOKERS.COM DID COUNT CARLOS PIERCE THE BUBBLE WITH HIS FANGS?

März 31, 2010

Bucharest – Romania – 31st March 2010 – The final nine at the first ever http://www.worldpokertour.com/ event Romania is set! The WPT Bucharest, sponsored by https://www.gamebookers.com/, is taking place at the Novotel Bucharest City Centre Hotel. There were a total of 161 players taking part in the €3000 + €300 Main Event, with first prize taking home €125,846. The event runs until April 2nd and pays 18 places with a total prize pool of €449,450.

The bubble burst late last night and, unbelievably, the bubble boy was Carlos Mortensen. After pushing with AK, he ran into JJ and no help on the board meant it was bike time for the poker superstar.

“These things happen,” said a pragmatic Carlos. “Perhaps I pierced the bubble with my fangs,” he joked. Carlos had donned fangs in a lighthearted tribute to Count Dracula of Transylvania on his arrival in Romania.

Carlos Mortensen won the last WPT event in the United States and this recent WPT Hollywood Poker Open win was a landmark for many reasons. First, it marked his third career WPT title, tying him with Gus Hansen for the most WPT wins by an individual. Secondly, his $393,820 victory pushed him past Daniel Negreanu on the all-time WPT money earners list. With over $5.75 million in WPT winnings to his credit, Mortensen is now the top earner in WPT history. It also put him firmly in the running for the WPT Player of the Year title.

With the final nine set, they now play down to six (six handed final table Friday). France’s Guilame Darcourt has a sizeable chip lead, while online sensation Simon ‘Schibl0r’ Munz makes his first major final table at a live tournament. Romania represents four of the final nine which has a truly international flavour with representatives from Argentina, Germany, France, USA and Hungary.

1. Jose De LaGuardia (ARG) 261,500

2. Ovidu Saizu (ROM) 197,500

3. Atila Abdula (ROM) 110,000

4. Eva Iosif (ROM) 226,500

5. Simon ‘Schnibl0r’ Munz (GER) 347,000

6. Guillame Darcourt (FRA) 587,000

7. Gheorghe Gradinaru (ROM) 118,000

8. Joseph Ebanks (USA) 407,500

9. Viktoria Szlasi (HUN) 153,000

Apart from bubble boy Carlos, notable names that bust in the latter stages include France’s Thomas Bichon, who went out in 12th and Argentina’s Jose Barbero who departed in 15th.

Here is the Main Event payouts so far and prize pool breakdown.

Sorin Constantinescu, Regent Casino CEO and organizer of the tournament said: “It would have been great if Carlos Mortensen had made the final table but we are delighted with the international line-up we have  – it is brilliant and so important that we have a big Romanian influence too. Now it is about getting a place in the final six!“

Regent Casino has made all the arrangements to ensure that WPT Bucharest is a poker tournament of world class standards. Amongst the notable names eliminated in the early stages include Sorel Mizzi,  Pascal Perrault, Praz Bansi, Team http://www.partypoker.com/ pro Dragan Galic, Casey Kastle, EPT Snowfest final tablists Russell Carson and Alain Medesan, 2009 WPT Championship runner-up Ran Azor and France‘s Nicolas Levi. Many fancied the chances of Romania’s Cristian Dragomir, Cristian Dumitrescu and Mihai Manole but they didn‘t progress to the later stages of the tournament. One person who didn’t make the final table was football agent Giovani Becali, who was excluded from the tournament. DOH FLANDERS! THE LUCKY DONKEY RIDES AGAIN! PIPPA FLANDERS WINS PARTYPOKER.COM WOMEN’S WORLD OPEN IV

März 26, 2010

London – 25th March 2010 – Pippa Flanders and her lucky donkey Eemore spectacularly rode to victory at the http://www.partypoker.com/ Women’s World Open IV in London! The 24 player $3,000 buy-in tournament featured a total prize pool of $72,000, with Pippa picking up the winner’s cheque for $30,000. Pippa previously won the PartyPoker.com World Open II in 2006, scooping $200,000.

Pippa is always accompanied at the table by her lucky donkey mascot Eemore – but far from being a donkey herself Pippa showed huge class to take down the title. Three-handed she was in a hugely dominant position with more than half the chips on the table but a heads-up fight back from eventual runner-up Helen Firth meant this dominance appeared to be vanishing into thin air. Pippa may have lost the lead but she didn’t lose her head, however, and she fought back much to the delight of her husband Tim, who was railing her. Pacing up and down, Tim exclaimed ‘this is torture,’ as Pippa took the massive chip lead, lost it and then bravely fought back.

“That was a wild merry-go-round,” said Pippa. “It’s absolutely brilliant to have won – this really is so special to me. I would hate to lose Eemore – he brings me such good luck!” Pippa, from Preston in the UK, had played all day and most of the night after coming through the final heat to sit third in chips going on to the six-handed final table. Never afraid to make a move, Pippa enthralled the green room spectators with her willingness to put it all on the line. “She may look innocent but she’s a tiger,” said Jesse May, who was accompanied by Team PartyPoker.com’s Kara Scott in the commentary box for the final.

The final hand came when Pippa picked up Ac Qd after a brief break. Pippa raised and Helen Firth pushed all-in with Kd Qc. The board ran out 3d, Qs, 9c, 9s, As to give a clearly exhausted Flanders victory.

First out on the final table was Croatia’s Tatjana Pasalic, who had come to the tournament to play and carry out some presenting duties. She clashed with fellow short stack Helen Firth as A2 off-suit failed to make ground on Ad Kd. Next out was French journalist Claire Renaut after her AQ ran into Pippa’s AK. Railed by top French professional Fabrice Soullier, Claire was disappointed but still pleased with her pay day.

After this elimination Pippa was completely dominant with over 40% of the chips in play. Fellow journalist Eliza Burnett went out in fourth, the same place she secured in the Women’s World Open II. Out in third was the chip leader going into the final table Caroline Cove, a 41-year-old landlady from West Lancashire. Cove wasn’t afraid to table talk and was railed by her boyfriend, recent GUKPT Walsall winner Colin McTaggart. When last orders was called for Caroline she still went home with $10,000. It was left to a fellow landlady in the form of Helen Firth to take on the might of Flanders and the 36-year-old 2009 UK Ladies Poker Tour from Stockton on Tees started off like a train with the chip lead of 2,560,000/2,240,000 but Flanders clawed back for the deserved victory.

Full hand analysis can be found at: http://www.matchroompoker.com/livereporting.htm. Tatjana Pasalic recounts her experiences at: http://blog.partypoker.com/womens-world-open-iv/tatjana-pasalic-my-first-final-table.html and pictures and videos are available on PartyPoker.com’s official facebook page.

Eddie Hearn, Managing Director of Matchroom Sport said: “Pippa Flanders has some serious form in our tournaments and we’d like to congratulate her on her win. The Women’s World Open is always a favourite with broadcasters and this tournament will make great tv with the lively table talk and fantastic action.”

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: “When Pippa took down the World Open II in 2006 she won one of the biggest prizes won by a woman in Europe at the time. She has been a permanent fixture at most of our live tournaments and always impresses – she deserved this victory.”

The 24 player $3,000 buy-in tournament featured a total prize pool of $72,000 and a six-seat final table. The top two players from each of the three deep-stacked eight handed heats carried their chips through to the final table. Starting stacks for the heats were 200,000, with blinds starting at 1,000/2,000. Amongst those eliminated in the heats included Team PartyPoker.com’s Kara Scott, Annette Obrestad, Women’s World Open III winner Aisling Collins and last year’s runner-up, Kim Wooka from Japan. Others to exit include Laurence Grondin, Maria Demetriou, Christine Klecz, and season two winner Soraya Homam.

LES AMBASSADEURS TO HOST PARTYPOKER.COM BIG GAME IV TONY G ‘I WILL STAKE ISILDUR1’ – POKER’S FIRST EVER EVICTION PROCESS!

März 25, 2010

Gibraltar – 24th March 2010 — www.partypoker.com and Matchroom Sport are delighted to announce that the PartyPoker.com Big Game IV will take place at the Les Ambassadeurs club in Mayfair, London on April 11-13. The legendary cash game will take place at the prestigious venue for 48 hours straight!

Players already confirmed for the event include Team Party’s Tony G, Premier League IV runner-up Luke “Full Flush” Schwartz, World Open V champion and Premier League hotshot Phil Laak, serial WSOP casher Isaac Haxton, Neil Channing, Laurence Grondin and Jennifer Tilly with more big names to follow, with the action to be screened on Five in the UK later in the year.

Tony G has offered to stake Isildur1, the mysterious online high stakes legend: see: http://blog.partypoker.com/tony-g/i-will-stake-you-isildur1.html

The Les Ambassadeurs club hosted the live Durrrr Million Dollar Challenge with great success in December 2009, and the luxurious Mayfair establishment is fast becoming London’s premier gaming venue. The PartyPoker.com Big Game has become one of the most anticipated dates on the poker calendar and this year’s tournament promises to be one of the highlights of 2010. It continues to be one of the most innovative tournaments and every two hours all eight players will nominate a player at the table and the tournament director will announce the player who is “evicted” from the table and replaced by a new face.

“We are delighted to be returning to Les A for the PartyPoker.Com Big Game IV” said Eddie Hearn, managing director of Matchroom Sport. “The event has become one of the most popular televised events in the calendar and this season looks to be the most exciting yet with a whole host of top names and the introduction of the all new player elimination process. Les A has become the central hub for high stakes poker in London and we are excited to be working with Craig and their team again.”

“We have been in contact with Isildur1 and would love him to join the game – if he wants we will even make special arrangements so that he doesn’t have to reveal his identity to anyone. We are quite happy to let him play wearing a mask or in disguise!

“Tony G has even offered to back him, so come on Isildur1 – Tony may even lend you his Kermit the Frog outfit if you choose! We are very serious about this offer and look forward to hearing from him soon.”

Eddie Hearn issued a challenge to Isildur1 through his blog – see: http://www.matchroompoker.com/blogs/hey_isildur1_come_join_the.htm for more information.

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: “The Big Game is always one of the most popular dates in the calendar and the added twist of a player being evicted every two hours will definitely spice up the action. If you are a rock, you could find yourself as the weakest link! We looked at adding a trap door for the player to exit through but couldn’t get it through health and safety!”

“Those of you who are saying that Neil Channing is a favourite for the first eviction are way off the mark. The opening line-up isn’t set yet!”

Players can keep updated on how many points picked up so far in ‘The Gladiator’ by checking their PartyAccount. Points are not removed from player accounts following the promotion – they all count towards Palladium Lounge targets.
