April 26, 2010

Gibraltar – 26th April 2010 – http://www.partypoker.com/ is delighted to announce that Spanish F1 ace Jaime Alguersuari is the latest global sporting superstar to join the PartyPoker family of brands as an ambassador! Jaime joins fellow F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella, who is an ambassador for PartyPoker.it, in the paddock at the leading online poker room!

20-year-old Jaime, from Barcelona, became the youngest driver in F1 history when he took part in the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix and has always had a passion for poker and will be taking part in exclusive tournaments and promotions at PartyPoker.com from immediate effect.

“Some say that I am a novice in F1 and I would say the same about poker. I have loved the game from afar but with all my driving commitments, I have a lot to learn. I recently got my first points in F1 and am now about to secure my first PartyPoints at PartyPoker.com,” said Jaime. “The popularity of poker in Spain is on the rise and I cannot wait to be part of it and improve my skills at the table by playing online. Poker is so popular amongst the F1 drivers at the moment, by becoming an ambassador for PartyPoker.com I aim to be the best of them all!”

As well as taking part in exclusive tournaments online at PartyPoker.com there will also be the chance for customers to meet the young motor racing ace through specific promotions in the coming months. One will offer tickets to the Valencia Grand Prix on June 27th and the chance to meet Jaime, while the F1 ace will take part in the prestigious WPT Barcelona which runs from May 17th-23rd at Casino Barcelona.

As well as being the youngest F1 driver in history and the first driver in the elite sport to be born in the 1990’s, Jaime also has a passion for being a DJ, showing he can spin a track as well as drive on one.

“I doubt Lady Gaga’s ‘PokerFace’ is in my DJ set but I love poker as much as I do my music. I am planning on getting a new poker themed tattoo and hope the players at PartyPoker.com can help me choose it!” said Jaime.

Italian F1 ace Giancarlo Fisichella was the first to welcome Jaime into Team PartyPoker.com. “If Jaime has a natural flair for poker like he does for driving, he can come and join the poker elite in F1. I am not going to go into too much detail but several of my mates are good players: Kubica, Alonso, Liuzzi, Heidfeld, Glock and Rosberg are the ones I would pick out. They all love it! From what I have seen of Jaime he has the potential to be one of the best!”

About Jaime Alguersuari

Jaime Alguersuari was born on March 23rd 1990 in Barcelona and became the youngest driver in F1 history and the first driver to be born in the 1990’s when he took part in the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix.  Alguersuari began his racing career in 2005. In 2006, he won the Italian Formula Renault Winter Series, before finishing as runner-up in 2007. Jaime moved up to the British Formula Three Championship in 2008 and won the final three races of the season to clinch the championship, becoming the youngest title winner in championship history, aged 18 years and 203 days. He also deputised for Mark Webber in the 2008 Race of Champions event at the Wembley Stadium in December 2008. He competed in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in 2009. At the time of his move to Formula One mid-season, he lay eighth in the championship with one podium finish, and was the second-highest rookie driver in the standings. Despite his promotion to an F1 race seat, he carried on in FR3.5. A week after his Formula One debut, Alguersuari returned to the series at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, and scored both his first pole and his first victory in the series. Alguersuari took over the role of reserve driver for the Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula One teams in the second half of the 2009 Formula One season. Less than two weeks later, race driver Sébastien Bourdais left the Toro Rosso team after the 2009 German Grand Prix and it was announced that Alguersuari would drive for the team at the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix. He became the youngest ever Formula One driver at the age of 19 years and 125 days, breaking the record previously held by Mike Thackwell. Toro Rosso retained Alguersuari for the 2010 season, starting with a career-best finishes of thirteenth in Bahrain and eleventh in Australia. In Malaysia one week later, Alguersuari scored his first ever Formula 1 points with a ninth-placed finish. Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost praised Alguersuari’s performance, saying the Spaniard “drove a fantastic race.” In the most recent Grand Prix in China, Jaime finished 13th.

ROLL UP, ROLL UP – EVERYONE JOIN THE CIRCUS! WORLD’S FIRST ROLE-PLAYING SLOT IS OUR MOST SUCCESSFUL SLOT LAUNCH EVER!

April 20, 2010

Gibraltar – 20th April 2010 – http://www.partycasino.com/ is proud to announce there is an astounding new circus in the town! ‘The Circus,’ is the world’s first interactive role-playing slot! In less than two weeks ‘The Circus’ has already established itself as the most popular game on the world’s largest online casino and its popularity has led to PartyCasino.com’s most successful slot launch ever!

‘The Circus’ is a five reel, 20 line slot which includes 16 features and four characters and it is heavily influenced by the golden years of ‘The Circus’ between the 1850’s and the 1950’s. Added to this unique look and feel is the special role-playing element. A customer can choose to be one of four characters and the aim is to learn the story of all the characters. Through play, a customer increases the ‘abilities’ of their character, which in turn influences their real win multiplier – all four characters’ abilities are carried over session to session and the character in play can be changed after any spin.

The four stories are:

1)       Will Fenchurch the Bear ever manage to run away from ‘The Circus’ and be free?

2)       Will Iggy the Human Cannonball ever manage to tell the bearded lady of his love?

3)       Will Nadia the Gymnast find her long lost sister and form the ultimate double act?

4)       Will Mr Blinky ever make amends for getting the boot from Clown School and become a first grade fool?

A PartyCasino.com spokesman said: “Look out for clowns, rollerskating monkeys, xylophone playing pigs, midget stuntmen and a bearded lady! ‘The Circus’ is different to any other slot on the market – customers love the role-playing element. It has easily been our most successful slot launch ever!”

PartyCasino.com is running a very special Treasure Hunt promotion between the 26th – 29th April. See http://www.partycasino.com/news/items/treasure_hunt.html for more information.

At the start of 2010, PartyCasino.com launched the largest progressive seeded jackpot in the online gaming industry in the form of ‘The Big One’ and introduced classic slot Melon Madness. The Big One is structured as a five tiered pool. The highest tier – Colossal Cash – seeds at $1.5 million, the biggest online jackpot seed in the industry. Melon Madness is designed to be a classic 30 line video slot.  Play is fast and the free spin feature is played in-reel.  The Big One currently stands at over $2.6 million.

http://www.partycasino.com/ now offers over 150 games, including 100 slots, and pays out easily over $10 million EVERY DAY to players. The world’s largest online casino continues to expand rapidly. The record Gold Mega Jackpot was hit with a fateful spin at 20.42ET on December 2nd 2009. The stake was $45 on popular PartyCasino.com Gold Mega Jackpot game, the Mega Fortune Wheel. The screen exploded with congratulations and colour as ‘gamago’ turned $45 into a record busting $4,978,336.62!

VIFFER WINS BIG AT PARTYPOKER.COM BIG GAME IV EPIC 48 HOUR CASH GAME SEES EVICTIONS AND WALK-ONS!

April 17, 2010

London – April 15th 2010 – US professional David ‘Viffer’ Peat was undoubtedly the major winner at the http://www.partypoker.com/ Big Game IV, which ran from the 11th – 13th April at the prestigious Les Ambassadeurs Club in Mayfair, London. ‘Viffer,’ along with the UK’s Neil Channing, played all 48 hours of the Matchroom Sport organized crazy cash game and finished nearly £150,000 in profit, a record for the event!

Viffer produced a stunning performance and opened up on the Sunday night so aggressive that he created a table image that he exploited to the maximum throughout the rest of the game. Through talking trash, overbetting, re-raising and generally being a maniac he found himself £40,000 down almost immediately, only to come right back and completely dominate the table for 48 hours. “I couldn’t be any happier,” said Viffer at the end of the 48 hour marathon, “I am still ready to play, can’t we go on for longer?”

The American pro was involved with some epic tussles with almost every member of the table and because of his loose aggressive play he found himself exempt from eviction on all but one occasion. For the first time in the event’s history, organisers Matchroom Sport introduced evictions every six hours. All players on the table at the time voted for who they wanted to leave and the only exemptions were for the player who had been at the table the least amount of time and for the player who was statistically the most aggressive. Reasons for voting off players were wide and varied. For example, Team PartyPoker.com professional Bodo Sbrzesny was evicted twice for beating up the table, while the likes of Simon Munz were curiously voted off when they were losing. Any player deemed to be nitish also found themselves on their bike and out the door!

Another new innovation was the player walk-ons with Team PartyPoker.com’s Tony G’s ‘Bicycle Race’ entrance and Roland De Wolfe’s howling ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ curtain raiser particularly memorable. Luke ‘FullFlush’ Schwartz was greeted with a round of loud boos as he made his way to the table while Neil Channing entered in his karate suit. The big losers were Roland De Wolfe, Luke Schwartz and Justin Bonomo, while the game was kind to Hollywood actress Jennifer Tilly, Laurence Grondin, Phil Laak, Sam Trickett and Ellis Reuben.

One of the pots of the show was when Channing and Viffer, both very deep, flopped set over set. Viffer flopped a set of eights, while Channing flopped at set of fours. A miracle one-outer on the turn gave Channing quads and a £64,000 pot!  Another key moment came when Viffer folded on the river what would been the biggest pot of the game. On a board of 10 8 8 Q 7 he was river check-raised all-in by Phil Laak, who held 7 8 to Viffer’s A A. It would have been over £100,000 if he called. Viffer eventually folded and came back from the break with a sign on highlighting that he was ‘Phil’s Bitch.’ The blogging A Team of Snoopy and Jen Mason live reported for 48 hours on the PartyPoker Blog. Details of the hands, gossip and videos can be found at: http://blog.partypoker.com/big-game-iv/partypoker-big-game-day-1-live-updates.html and http://blog.partypoker.com/big-game-iv/partypoker-big-game-live-blog-day-2.html

Eddie Hearn, Managing Director of Matchroom Sport said: “The dust has settled on perhaps the most action packed 48 hours poker has ever seen. David “Viffer’ Peat was a hero being exempt from all but one eviction and lasting the whole duration – whilst playing some breathtaking poker. Les A was buzzing throughout the game and we are looking forward to getting into the editing suite and rolling these shows out for immediate transmission.”

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: “The Big Game just gets bigger and better every year. The introduction of the eviction process was fascinating but nailing down the reasons why a player was evicted was difficult – there were a whole host of reasons.”

PokerNews.com was a presenting sponsor of the event. UK chief Barry Carter’s updates can be found at: http://uk.pokernews.com/news/2010/04/partypoker-48-hour-big-game-iv-live-tweet-updates-here.htm-5645.htm

Mysterious online high stakes legend Isildur1 pulled out of the Big Game on the eve of the event. Team PartyPoker.com’s Tony G reacted to this here: http://blog.partypoker.com/tony-g/isildur1-sry-for-not-coming-take-care-bud.html

Jesse May spent all but two of the 48 hours in the commentary box and he was joined for the final 24 hours by Dusty ‘Leatherass’ Schmidt as co-commentator. Schmidt initially sat down to commentate for three hours but ended up doing 24 hours straight. The action will be first broadcast on Five in the UK on June 2nd and then distributed internationally. Team PartyPoker.com’s Kara Scott leads the presenting, assisted by Tatjana Pasalic.
