$1.88 MILLION CASINO JACKPOT SUPERSTAR SPARKS MASERATI GRAN TURISMO PAYOUT I LIVE ON A HORSE FARM – CAN YOU TAKE ME FOR A SPIN IN YOUR NEW CAR?

Mai 27, 2010

Gibraltar – 27th May 2010 —  Arkry222 made online casino history when he hit a huge US$1.88million jackpot on http://www.partycasino.com/, the world’s largest online casino, on the 7th May. 48-year-old Arkry222, who lives on a horse farm, won US$1,888,198.59 from just a US$2 spin on Gold Mega Jackpot game SuperStar. This in itself is remarkable but what was more staggering is that the jackpot triggered a big win on the ‘Grand Win Auto’ promotion as one customer became entitled to pick up a Maserati Gran Turismo thanks to Arkry222 scooping the jackpot!

The Maserati Gran Turismo was on offer through the ‘Grand Win Auto’ leaderboard promotion that was due to run from 6th-19th May. The concept was simple – if the Gold Mega Jackpot or Big One hit between those dates the player at the top of the leaderboard got the sports car or financial equivalent. The promotion had been running a little over 24 HOURS when the Gold Mega Jackpot was scooped by Arkry222 on the 7th May!

“It didn’t hit me until the next day that by winning the jackpot someone else had won a Maserati. All I can say is enjoy your drive mate and get in touch – fancy taking me for a spin?” said Arkry222. “Winning this jackpot has been so surreal – I really needed convincing that it was true – I thought there simply had to be a catch somewhere.”

“It was a Friday night and I wasn’t far off going to bed and I was sat at the computer. I actually had the volume down on the computer as I had the television on. I was playing SuperStar and all of a sudden these squares came up – I hit complete and the screen lit up in loads of colour. Then the number appeared on the screen – I had never seen so many numbers in my life – it was an international phone number!” Arkry222’s partner of 13 years was half asleep and called out in disbelief: “that’s play money.”

Soon the realization hit home that this was very real and that he had just won over US$1.88million. “I was numb – I was on a different planet. It was then I realized that I had missed a call from the VIP team at PartyCasino.com and it started to sink in a little bit more. I hadn’t been feeling well all week, now I was just in this strange kind of happy limbo. I went back into my account and there it was – over US$1.8 million dollars – unbelievable – I would count myself as an infrequent player.”

“I think I am going to have to spend the money on the standards: a holiday, a new car and new house! It will also allow me to be become more flexible with my working hours – I am going to go freelance! I will also have time to play a few more games on PartyCasino.com and love the concepts of Melon Madness and The Circus.”

A PartyCasino.com spokesman said: “We’d like to congratulate Arkry222 on winning the Gold Mega Jackpot – he is a super guy and very deserving. We would like to congratulate the winner who enjoyed the spin off from this win too. We thought the Grand Win Auto promotion would last longer than one day but that’s casino!”

http://www.partycasino.com/ now offers over 150 games, including 100 slots, and easily pays out over US$10 million EVERY DAY to players. PartyCasino.com is the home of the largest progressive seeded jackpot in the online gaming industry in the form of ‘The Big One’ and has introduced classic slot Melon Madness. The Big One is structured as a five tiered pool. The highest tier – Colossal Cash – seeds at US$1.5 million, the biggest online jackpot seed in the industry. Melon Madness is designed to be a classic 30 line video slot.  Play is fast and the free spin feature is played in-reel.  The Big One currently stands at over US$3 million and is waiting to be won!

‘The Circus,’ also recently came to PartyCasino.com and is a five reel, 20 line slot that includes 16 features and four characters and it is heavily influenced by the golden years of ‘The Circus’ between the 1850’s and the 1950’s. Added to this unique look and feel is the special role-playing element. A customer can choose to be one of four characters and the aim is to learn the story of all the characters. Through play, a customer increases the ‘abilities’ of their character, which in turn influences their real win multiplier – all four characters’ abilities are carried over session to session and the character in play can be changed after any spin.

20 YEARS, TWO MAJOR TOURNAMENTS, ONE BIG WIN! ALI TETKINTAMGAC WINS WPT® BARCELONA, PRESENTED BY PARTYPOKER.COM

Mai 25, 2010

Barcelona —  24th May 2010 — 41-year-old German businessman Ali Tekintamgac is the champion of the World Poker Tour® Spanish Championship Main Event at Gran Casino, Barcelona, presented by PartyPoker.com. Ali scooped €315,000 – the prestigious WPT title, a Tiffany bracelet and a $25,500 entry into the 2011 WPT World Championship. This successful €3,200 + €300 buy-in European stop on the World Poker Tour featured a record 326 players and a total prize pool of €1,043,200, paying 36 places.

Tekintamgac, who is married with one child and lives in Augsburg, Germany, is a newcomer to the live tournament circuit with the WPT Barcelona being only the second major event he has played. In the first big event he ever took part in, the recent EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo, he finished 125th for €15,000. Ali now has his name in the WPT record books alongside previous Spanish Championship winners Markus Lehmann of Austria, Denmark’s Casper Hansen, and last year’s winner, American Mark Randal Flowers.

“I couldn’t feel any better now,” said Ali, who is a German of Turkish descent. “I have been playing poker for 20 years but it was only recently that I thought I would go for it on the big stage and take part in major tournaments. The key turning point for me here came on day two – there was a huge pot and I held A2. An ace came down on the flop – my opponent raised me but I just had a feeling he didn’t have the Ace and I was ahead even with the small kicker. This was what managed to push me forward and allow me to eventually head for the final table as the chip leader.”

Ali had a sizeable chiplead at the final table and exploited this position well. Quite early on, the fireworks on the final table were set off by 18-year-old Manuel Blaschke from Vienna, who dazzled observers and is certainly one to watch for the future. The young Austrian eventually finished fourth. The runner-up in the tournament was 40-year-old Madrid film director Roberto Santiago. Roberto had come along for the PartyPoker.com Celebrity Invitational Event in aid of Fundación Pare Manel the night before the Main Event and had been an aggressive force in the Main Event after being the overall chip leader after the day one flights. Roberto is currently working on a poker screenplay project.

“This was a fantastic experience for me,” he said. “This has been a brilliant tournament  as I now have the information and, even more importantly, the finance to push ahead with my poker film project.”

Roberto is best known in Spain for his 2005 football film ‘The Longest Penalty in the World.” Could this major cash on the World Poker Tour kick-start a Spanish ‘Rounders’ phenomenon? “The game is growing in Spain and we have seen that movies can help dramatically increase poker’s popularity so I certainly hope that by cashing big in this tournament I can finance a potential boom,” he added.

Details on all the hands at the final table, player profiles and video can be found at: http://www.partypoker.com/blog/featured/wpt-barcelona-spanish-championship-final-table-live-updates.html

There was a lot of sweating on the rail on Saturday night when Finland’s Atte Koskivirta, the last remaining PartyPoker.com online qualifier, bust out ahead of the final table in 14th for €10,000. If Atte had made the final table and won he would have triggered the $1 MILLION extra bonus payout from PartyPoker.com! $500,000 would have gone to him directly, with the other $500,000 shared between 23 online qualifiers.

Amongst those who fell at earlier levels in the tournament were Sorel Mizzi, Leo Margets, Antoine Saout, Irish Open champion James Mitchell, Manuel Cuberos, Juan Manuel Pastor, Frank Blumlein, Per Linde, Cayetano Garcia, May Maceiras, Dragan Galic, WPT Bucharest winner Guillaume Dacourt, Aussie Millions winner Tyron Krost, Casey Kastle, Sam Trickett, Javier Martinez, Jordi Martinez, Enrique Custodio, Quinn Sivage, Christophe Benzimira, Megbah Guerfi, Eric Haick, WPT Paris highroller finalist Roger Hairabedian and Mihai Manole.

THEO JORGENSEN WINS WORLD POKER TOUR GRAND PRIX DE PARIS, PRESENTED BY PARTYPOKER.FR

Mai 17, 2010

Glory for Amourette on the race track, glory for Deeb in the ACFpoker High Rollers

(PARIS) May 17, 2010 – Danish pro Theo Jorgensen has scooped his first WPT title by winning  the World Poker Tour® Grand Prix de Paris Main Event at Aviation Club de France, presented by www.partypoker.fr, which ran from May 8th -16th. Jorgensen picked up €633,902, a $25,000 seat to the WPT World Championship, and the coveted title of WPT Champion, while every final table participant took home at least €70,000.

Jorgensen, who is the fourth Dane to win a WPT title, said as he embraced his father, ‘Wow, I’m on top of the world – it means so much to win a WPT title’.  The 2008 WSOPE bracelet winner came to the final table as the chip leader and exploited that position. The turning point was when Jorgensen’s kings doubled through eventual runner-up Antione Amourette’s pocket sevens and by the time it got heads-up Jorgensen was 11-1 chip leader. Celebrations, which went on well into the early morning in Paris, were already being planned. Amourette was philosophical in defeat, and, making reference to the le PMU et le Cheval Français cart race the night before, said, “I won the race but I didn’t win enough races today. I’m still delighted though,” he added.

The finale of the €10,000 main event was filmed for worldwide television broadcast and started with a healthy total of 247 runners and total prize pool of €2,347,797 – a total of 27 players made the money.  Theo Jorgensen had previously cashed twice before on the World Poker Tour for a total of $33,000. Both cashes were way back in season three, with a best finish of 22nd at the 2005 World Poker Open. For the other seven final table participants, which included French star Arnaud Mattern, it was their first cashes on the WPT.  Amongst others who made the money included French actor and poker player Patrick Bruel, Antony Lellouche and Russia’s Alexander Kravchenko. Bruel had a large supporting contingent on the rail and they were visibly deflated when he departed.

Those who hit the rail in this WPT 2010-2011 season kick-off event before the money included WPT Champions Bertrand ‘Elky’ Grospellier, Guillaume Darcourt, Tommy Vedes, Freddy Deeb, Thomas Bichon, and Surinder Sunar (who took down this event in 2004), as well as other top names such as John Juanda, Men ‘The Master’ Nguyen, Aussie Millions champion Tyron Krost, Isabelle Mercier, Ludovic Lacay, David Steicke, Casey Kastle, Roberto Romanello and Remy Biechel.

In a first in World Poker Tour history, there was a very special event on Friday evening for the participants of the final table of the World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris Main Event, presented by PartyPoker.fr. Le PMU et le Cheval Français and ACF generously invited the players for a very special night of trotting at the superb state of the art Vincennes horse racing track. The main race, the  ‘Finale du WPT Grand Prix de Paris’, took place at 8:48pm CET. At 10.30pm, however, the  real fun started – all eight final table players took part in their very own televised horse and cart race! The winner on the night was Antoine Amourette, who dramatically passed Bruno Fitoussi on the line. Watch the video at : http://fr.partypoker.com/blog/wpt-paris/video-exclusive-les-8-finalistes-du-wpt-grand-prix-de-paris-au-sulky/

The second televised event, the ACFpoker €20,000 No Limit Hold ‘em High Roller Freeze Out tournament, saw glory for two time WPT champion Freddy Deeb after an intriguing heads-up battle with man of the moment Sorel Mizzi. The superb lively final table also featured the likes of Bruno Fitoussi, Andrew Feldman, Antony Lelouche and Roger Hairabedian. Deeb picked up €290,000, with Mizzi walking away with €120,000. Mizzi seemed to be in control throughout the final table but when his AK was out-flopped by Deeb’s AQ during an epic heads-up the balance of power changed. “I cannot believe I came back,” said Freddy , “he kept making me call but I changed my game and got a bit of a break.”

Bruno Fitoussi of ACFpoker said: “Congratulations to Freddy. Sorel Mizzi has been on an unprecedented run tearing up the online and offline felt  - he’s the man to beat in world poker at the moment and if I had to pick someone to do it Freddy Deeb would be very high up on that list.”

Coverage of the WPT Grand Prix de Paris Main Event, presented by PartyPoker.fr, and the ACFpoker High Roller will be presented by Justine Fraioli.
