SAM EL SAYED WINS INAUGURAL WPT® AMNÉVILLE, PRESENTED BY PARTYPOKER.FR RECORD NUMBER OF RUNNERS FOR WPT IN EUROPE AND BIG CROWD

Amnéville — France – 10th November 2010 – Switzerland’s Sam El Sayed is the champion of the inaugural €3200 + €300 World Poker Tour® Amnéville Main Event, presented by http://www.partypoker.fr/. 543 players took part in the event at the Seven Casino d’Amnéville, breaking the record for most runners in a WPT® tournament in Europe. More than 200 people came to support the finalists and their local heroes – railing the action well into Sunday morning.

The final table was a predominantly French affair with five players from France taking part in a tense and entertaining final table of eight players that lasted more than 12 hours. The most notable name to make the tournament’s finale was French whizz Jean-Paul Pasqualini, easily the most experienced player who is causing a stir in the European rankings. However it was Switzerland’s Sam El Sayed who scooped first prize of €426,425, a WPT Champion Tiffany bracelet, the first WPT Amnéville winner title and a seat for the 2011 $25,000 WPT World Championship at the Bellagio, Las Vegas. The runner-up was France’s Franck Pepe, who took home €229,613 and a €10,000 seat for the prestigious 2011 WPT Grand Prix de Paris.

El Sayed was delighted with his win: “It’s amazing to win this tournament – I think I picked my spots well. Now the plan is to wake up every morning and continue to play poker. Next stop is WPT Marrakech at the end of November.”

Players don’t even have to earn points on consecutive days to be in with a shot at the colossal prizes: PartyPoker.com will just count up the number of days where they made the targets during the promotion.

For example, if a player earns 10 points every day for 10 days, take five days off and then earn 10 points on 10 more days of the promotion, there will be a $15 cash prize for earning 10 points on 20 days and entry into the $25,000 freeroll. WPT FIVE DIAMOND ONLINE QUALIFIERS START THIS MONDAY LAST WEEKEND OF QUALIFERS FOR WPT AMNEVILLE ON PARTYPOKER.COM

Gibraltar –13^th October 2010 – Online qualifiers for December’s star studded WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio, Las Vegas get underway at http://www.partypoker.com/ on Monday 18^th October. The $14,000 package includes the $10,300 Main Event buy-in, $2,000 spending money, luxury accommodation and hospitality.

The main $700 + $50 online qualifier takes place every Sunday (starting Sunday 24^th October) at 14.15 ET where one package will be awarded for every 20 players. As ever, there are a wide variety of ways to secure a place in this final satellite including freeroll options. Last year, Daniel Alaei scooped $1.4 million after taking down a final table that also included the likes of Scotty Nguyen, Josh Arieh and Shawn Buchanan.
