Turin — 15th December 2009 – Top footballers Pavel Nedved, Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus) and Mohamed Lamine Sissoko (Juventus) were amongst those that spoke at a press conference in Central Turin today to promote Monday’s Idolo Cup http://www.idolocup.it/web/, presented by http://www.partypoker.it/.
The Idolo Cup, presented by http://www.partypoker.it/, is a special charity match that sees two All Star XI’s face-off to kick racism out of the game. Italy manager Marcello Lippi and Torino’s Mario Beretta will manage the European side led by Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus) and former Ballon d’or winner Pavel Nedved. Stoke City’s Tony Pulis is at the helm of the All Star African XI that has been brought together by Salif Diao (Stoke City) and Didier Drogba (Chelsea).
Amongst the new names announced today include Anderson (Manchester United), Nicolas Anelka (Chelsea), Ji Sung Park (Manchester United), John Carew (Aston Villa), Patrice Evra (Manchester United), Florent Malouda (Chelsea) and Mamadiou Niang (Marseille).
Also scheduled to feature are Zinedine Zidane, Antonio De Natale (Udiense), Danielle Mannini (Sampdoria), Marco Donadel (Fiorentina) and many other top Italian names. The African XI is scheduled to feature Emmanuel Adebayor (Man City), Patrick Vieira (Inter Milan), Mahamadou Diarra (Real Madrid), Kole Toure (Man City), Wilson Palacios (Spurs), Pascal Chimbouda (Blackburn), Jon Obi Mikel (Chelsea), Salomon Kalou (Chelsea), El Hadji Diouf (Blackburn) and many others.
