Januar 15, 2010
Gibraltar – 15th January 2009 – This weekend marks the final chance to qualify for http://www.partypoker.com/ Premier League IV in Las Vegas in February. There are THREE $9,000 play-off packages available through country specific qualifiers for UK, German and Canadian players.
All three qualifiers take place on Sunday 17th January with a $480 buy-in. The UK qualifier is at 14.25 ET (19.25 GMT), Germany at 13.45 ET (20.45 CET) and Canada at 20.05 ET. Qualifiers into these main satellites start from just $2.
A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: “The three country specific qualifiers can be found by clicking on the specials tab in the lobby. We encourage players to check them out as they offer great value. The potential rewards for qualifying for the play-offs in Vegas are truly enormous with a $100,000 buy-in to the added money Main Event and a $100,000 Team Party contract up for grabs!”
This year PartyPoker.com is running qualifiers to find a total of 16 players who all fly out to Las Vegas to play in a Premier League Poker play-off to see which one of the 16 will be lucky enough to join 11 professional players in Premier League Poker IV. The lucky online qualifiers will play a short series of play-off sit & go’s in Las Vegas and the eventual winner will win a $100,000 buy-in to take part in the main Premier League event! Both the play-off and the main event will be filmed for TV and shown across the world. One amazing element of this promotion that provides a truly fantastic opportunity is that one of the 16 qualifiers will be chosen by PartyPoker to receive a $100,000 Team Party contract to be a sponsored player.
Triple Crown winner Roland De Wolfe is the latest player to receive an invite into PartyPoker.com Premier League IV. He joins defending champion JC Tran, Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Phil Hellmuth for the 12 player $100,000 buy-in main event.
De Wolfe was the first player to win both a WPT and EPT and last year became the second player in history to do the Triple Crown when he added a WSOP bracelet to his portfolio. Roland has a rich Premier League history with many remembering how he tried to secure his place at the final table in season two after what looked like a comfortable run in the league stages. The final heat of this stage saw Roland need just one point to win an automatic place at the final table and he adopted a very conservative style only to bust out with zero points. This meant de Wolfe had to play in a heads-up match with Eddy Scharf for a place at the final table that had seemed almost guaranteed. He won the match and went on to the final table and scooped $125,000 for finishing runner up to Andy Black. In Premier League III, Roland made the final table again but finished fifth.
De Wolfe said: “The Premier League to me is one of the best events in poker and I cannot wait for it to get underway. I have made the final table in the last two events – now is the time to take it down. Whatever happens, I’m going to do my best and am certainly not afraid to put on a show.”
JC Tran won PartyPoker.com Premier League III after taking down the most formidable final table in the event’s history! Tran, widely regarded as one of the finest and consistent tournament professionals on the circuit scooped the $300,000 first prize in the elite tournament that saw 12 of the world’s finest players battle it out for a $1.25 million prize pool! Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan, Juha Helppi, Tony G, Roland de Wolfe and Peter Eastgate all made the final table.
This year’s Premier League will carry a total prize pool of $1.5 million (US$300,000 added by PartyPoker.com). Premier League II was won by Andy Black and the inaugural event was taken down by Juha Helppi. The PartyPoker.com Premier League is organized by Matchroom Sport and will be presented by the newest member of ‘Team Party,’ Kara Scott.
